changed to hps from t5. wow!!

Ok. I did post a thread asking some questions.

I had 3- 8 bulb t5.
I decided to change to 2 600 hps. I did get xxl hoods and vented.

Well I just finished the swap and holy shit!!!!!

I have never been to a grow room. Or have any past experience with grow lights. I started with t5 because of the "heat issue"
But after having 24 bulbs and 3 sets if lights running....I was getting.heat from the t5's.

So basically all my information is from forum sites and Web sites..this is my first grow.

I cannot believe the difference in coverage and penitration ( now I understand )

My lumen/lux meter gave me all the oh my god info I needed.
I'm getting 24000 lux halfway through the plants. I was getting that reading on the top with t5!!!

I'm a definite believer in the power of hps now. I'm sure a lot of people can tell me that there t5 setup yields good results.
Frankly I'm looking for great results and with this set up I'm sure I will.

A pair of 1000 watt sunmaster dual spec HPS all the way for me, it would rude not to...Let the sun shine

Ha...yeah 2 1k would be great. But I need to budget my power usage. I'm using the same 1200 watts (roughly ) but getting better light performance.

Absolutely. ....Definitely a holy shit moment for me.

Funny how your eyes are deceived by the lights. 24 t5's running "looks" bright.but when taking test readings with both at the same time, and getting totally different results with the same wattage. that is really the test. No comparison at all
