    Default Autoflower Pot Size

    Hey all,

I am starting to plan my next grow and am thinking of giving the autoflowers a go. In doing my research, there are several "opinions" on what size pots should be used. One such opinion states that autos roots grow deeper than they do wide and suggests using taller pots. Is that accurate? What about smart pots? I have a grow room so size is not an issue for me. I grow with organic soil and nutrients under HID lighting. With that information, what do you experienced auto growers suggest for pot size (and shape if relevant)?

    Thanks!

I can happily grow my autos in 5L pots but find, during flower, that watering is too often for me, so I use a 10L pot & that, plus root mass, works fine for me

    I hear this a lot....

I grow autos, I've grown lots of autos, I have mentored new auto growers - I love autos

But I do not have huge experience of photoperiod plants....

However! Roots will find there own happy medium, regardless

Hobby I grow in soil mate. I bought a huge wack of Jacks Magic for this grow, and next grow I am going to be using Plant Magic soil. Like the uncomplicated growing that soil offers me mate. Coco and the other methods give bigger yields but I like the soil grown smoke and do not mind being a oz less in dried bud.

Some companies like mephisto maker specific recommendations. In general xxl autos should have up 20 litre and middize would be 15. You can go smaller with air pots.

I agree with you on the soil grows and the quality of the finished product! I would love to get some larger yields but hell.... I will just do an extra grow to make up for it :-)
