    Thanks Jingo! I am a big fan of the smart pots and will be using them for this grow. I have a few 3 gal (12 L)... I might get some 4 gal just to be safe. I use 7 gallon for my photos which would be overkill for autos from what everyone is saying. Thanks for pointing me toward Mephisto!

    Hey M_C,

    If you start your seeds in the same pot you are going to finish in, how do you water when they are little? I am thinking that soaking 10L of soil around freshly germinated seeds would not be a good idea.

    Water the soil before planting, stick a transparent plastic beaker over the seed & it'll be at least a week before you need to water it

    If you go have a look in my grow diary linked in my sig. You will see how seldom I needed to water the plants. Even now that they are just starting to flower I water far less than I thought I would need to.

    When they were tiny and under the plastic dome things, I simply sprayed water around the outside of the domes and let it trickle down the walls. Hoping that as the moisture worked its way into the soil the roots would reach for the moister rather than have the moisture come to them. Seems to have worked.
