When to Top plants
Hi
New to all this, been reading up that i should Top or FIM the my plants for a better yield. I'm going to go with the topping i think. I've been looking around and although i think i understand how to do it and why to do it, I'm not sure when i should start doing it. I've included some pictures, one with a red line on where i think i would cut it.(line is small, sorry zoom in :P )
When would you lot cut it? (potted 15 days ago)
From what i understand you top it where i have put the line, but i read people are topping their plants multiple times, would it be the same part you are topping?
How can you top the lower parts of the plant, surely you'd end up cutting all the above levels off?
Regards

Ahhh just done a little more reading into it. Found a really good post by Bobby Digital over at https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-foru...g-on-one-plant
Think I'm getting a head of my self (never grown before)
Am i right in saying i would top the part i have put the line on in my original post, and then later on when that grows off into it's Y shape both the Y parts will then potentially have two more cuts?
I've edited the OP's image, for example the first cut at the bottom, and then as it's grown he has made a second cut nearer the top?
Regards

Give it a bit more time. Let te current growth grow out and just remove the next set of leafs by hand. No need for all the fancy stuff just take the newest growth off when it comes to this stage.

It's a good practice to not top till u have 3-5 nodes of growth.

3rd node for autos and 5th for photos.
Top when you have around a cm of growth
So when you cut/top you leave a cm of stem
Still there.you won't split the stem when lst
Later on an also when the weight of the buds
Puts pressure there.
