Default A Paper towel germination method Question.

Ok so i popped a monster seed in a moist paper towel and ziplocked it then store in a dark warm-ish cupboard.
Its been, say three days coming up on four days give or take 12 hours and still has'nt sprouted. Bad seed or impatient?

Meanwhile i stuck a few more in a seperate bag with slightly less water this morning and still waiting.

Any feed back will be appriciated, cheers!

I've had seeds that have popped overnight and ones that have taken quite some time. I've only ever gone a week but if nothing after that it's probably not gonna happen. Some people bin them before that but it's only time and patience is a virtue lol. Doesn't hurt to wait. Peace

    Does water amount matter?
I let it drain some more with little pressure around the seed.

I dont mind waiting, I understand patience is key

Alright so its been a week in paper towel, so i carefully planted the seeds in soil. Its been about 5 days Im thinking they're not viable. Im gonna give it two more days then inspect.

Was the seed germinated using the wet paper towel method? Or it has no taproot yet and you decided to put it in soil? Patience is the key sometimes they only need 24 hrs..sometimes a week..sometimes they never germinate but hey gotta be patient

I didn't soak these prior to papertowel method. No taproot progression so planted them still nothing.

Last night I pre soaked more seeds, about 14hrs in a few sank so i put them in papertowel In a ziplock.
Is there a better chance for germination if seeds are presoaked?

Personally I see no advantage, only risk, in using a paper towel to germinate.

I have 100% germination rate but simply soaking the seeds in water until the sink, between 6 and 12hrs usually, then straight into soil.

This way you never need to disturb the tap root.
