Topping an auto, IMHO, you need to top her just before she starts to flower which is between the 3rd true node & the 4th. Timing is everything as any later & you will stunt her flowering period & any sooner will stunt her veg period - both will reduce your yield
cotyledon...then,
single leaf=1st node
3 finger leaf= 2nd node
5 finger leaf=3rd node
then top it!
