Autos and rockwool slabs

Good day. I'm setting up my space ready for growing in January. I've not sprouted a seed for well over 18 months so I'll be doing 6 autos to try and refill the jars quickly.

I've not grown in rockwool before and not tried autos either so it may be going pete tong from the start!

What is a common pot size for autos and do they normally fill with roots by beginning of flower? I'm a bit concerned about potentially stunting the plants after transferring from starter cube to 4" block. I've got 7 seeds so I'll be seeing how one of them goes early next week under CFL, just to get a feel for EC levels and root growth.

Lights will be 2 GN HS1's and 400W HPS (not enough heat for a winter grow from 150W of LED) on 24/0 cycle to try and prevent any chilly lights off temps. That's about all I can think of.

Any tips for me?

I've had 2 goes with them but I was growing in a tiny space and struggled with the heat or lack of. I'll be using 2 of them either side a 400 or 600W MH/HPS just to keep the temps up.

Thanks M_C. Do you get a good root ball in 10l, as in bursting out the airpots? I don't know why but I've got a hard'on for rockwool slabs and drippers at the moment but I'm concerned about getting a big enough root mass to fill the slabs with the limited veg time on offer. It will have to be dialled in perfectly in order to succeed. Bit of a risk, especially with long empty jars and empty pockets after buying weed for 18 months!

Once seed has sprouted, approximately how many days until stretch starts? I'd love to run photos and get a 4 week veg but lights off temps will be too low. My house is kind of chilly and i'm too stingy to run the night storage heaters! Cheers!

If you are running AUTO's your girls will do it all for you. Just look after them in the normal way. Normally you will see pre-flowers or flowers in the 4 to 5 week range.

Autos normally show sex between 15 & 28 days from them popping their heads above the ground... once they show sex they will start to stretch almost immediately & most of the stretch will be done in 2 weeks with maybe an extra couple of inch gained in the next 2 weeks
