Default Plants looking a bit sorry for themselves

    Soil, 24-26C, 35-40%

I've noticed over the last week or so that they're starting to look bit floppy and the bottom leaves on one are going a bit yellow.

Could this be due to under watering? I did initially over water in the first couple of weeks but have only watered them once a week since. I'm thinking I've been so careful not to over water that I may have gone too far. Any thoughts?

I've just given them a litre of water each so hoping they will perk up a bit.

Not really my field but suggest they possibly still a little saturated at root level, hence the droop. I'm sure one the resident soil experts will be along shortly.

How are you watering your plants?

How much each, how often and any feed?

Colour wise they look fine, it may just be that the leaves at the bottom are not getting any light because of the dense foliage above them. What light are you using?

I watered them on the 3rd and added some feed (1/5strength tomorite) for the first time, but about 1mm of the ends of some leaves went brown so I haven't fed again since. I then watered yesterday when the soil was pretty dry, about 500ml per plant and then today I've added another litre. I won't again for a while now.

I won't worry too much about the leaves at the bottom then. I'm using 2x300w LEDs, was using 1 until just over a week ago. I've got them slightly closer than then manufacturer recommends so I might have to lift them a big higher, I can't see how too much light could be a problem though.

Your canopy is quiet dense and the LED will not penetrate to the bottom if they are thick so that may just be why those few bottom leaves are pale. Keep and eye on things and don't get to reactive. Wait and see how the corrective water schedual works. If you are in soil I would not feed till your plants tell you they need feeding. There will be enough nutrients in the soil for the first three to four weeks or longer - soil dependant of course.

By the looks of the plants your lights are a good height from the top so not to worry about that score.

Thanks for the advice, I did actually just raise the lights slightly before I read that.. From about 11" to 13" to bring it closer to the 15-18" that's recommended. They have been growing so fast.

From what you've said I'm not too worried about them and will just leave them to do their own thing. I'm virtually half way through the grow now and just don't want it to go wrong at this stage!

I'm glad to report that one plant has perked up very nicely and the other has improved a lot although slightly wilting still. I've given that one another 500ml or so of water so hopefully will be back to normal in the morning.

Pick the pots up, feel the weight of them... you'll soon gauge if they need watering from the weight rather than looking at the soil & guessing.

When you do water them then drench them, don't mess about with 1/2L here & there, water them all they can take until you get run off

Thanks M_C, I'll do that in future.. I just need to get used to the weight of them, that should come with experience.
