Only started planting my own in April this year after buying weed for nearly 15 years ,bought 400 watt HP's and a grow tent that was way way to big so canabalised some panals from it and lined a 4ft by 4ft storage room first grow was not bad from someone going into it blind ,for the 2nd time I did get my soil from b and q but they had no perlite in stock or at home base so recycled some from my first biobizz allmix but the B and Q soil I got was terrible as soon as i put it under the heat the flies coming out of it was unreal and it just wouldn't dry out .if I could work out how to link a picture of 5inch/9 week W Widow you'd at least have a grin . this Sunday I popped in 3 mazar and a W W and allready nearly 4 inches in allmix

If they’re tiny black flies, they’re probably just sciarid bugs mate – harmless to you and your beloved plants, just a bit annoying. You're right that they like compost which is quite organic and a bit too wet.

Once it gets very sodden it is a bugger to dry out – the only thing, paradoxically, which really does it is a big thirsty plant!
