so, i successfully harvested a few good pounds of outdoor this year and have dried and am now on to the curing stage. i managed to find 10 1 gal. glass on glass jars and a few 1 liters with metal and porcelain lids.
now.
after curing for about 2-3 days i started, on one jar, noticing condensation and noted that the larger buds were re-moistening through the stems. i know that that is typical of the process and thats where the burping comes in, but when does moisture become too much moisture? when i decided to take the buds off the main branches, most of them snapped right off, but now that there just seems to be more moisture than i would think there should be. i was drying them in a room where i was running into the problem of the little buds being super dry with the stem being dry on em, the coala's being dry and almost crispy but the stem is still moist and bendable.
so.
how can i tell when the moisture is TOO much moisture?
how long should i be leaving the jars open when burping? currently @
20min every 12hrs
what smell should i not smell? (i was told to watch for the smell of fresh grass clippings)
whats the least amount of time i should be curing the buds?
what do i do if theres still too mush moisture but i dont want to mess up the curing and make my buds less potent and smell like hay?
i know how to deal with over-dry, but what about too wet?
