yes, If you have just changed your res it would save dumping it, .......but.......

But....you wont see the benefit till its all Ionic.
I would wait till you are due a res change personally. I find Ionic stuff works well with my background ec of 0.2, but i have noticed that the dutch pro seems more popular in areas with higher background EC (not sure why)
I tried the Dutch pro stuff and didnt like it at all, same as yourself- ph and EC went haywire with it in RDWC. Maybe i was unlucky, but it seemed to move quicker in the Dutch pro stuff.
Thier explode is the most over-priced cack ive ever had the miss fortune of using as well. IMHO

I like your style . I am on it , I'll empty the whole system ' should i leave them on just fresh water 5.8 for a few hours to get them hungry again ,or do what said and flush 40 Ltd through and go straight in with ionic.

No i wouldnt leave the plain water in the system, Its just to flush out any remaining Dutch pro stuff.
You could probaBLY get away with just changing straight to Ionic, and im sure it would be fine, but i like to clean as much out as possible, and its impossible to get every last bit out by just draiining the system, there is always a bit left in the bottom of the buckets, so its better diluted and remove as much as possible.
Im a bit OCD about shit like this and used to use a sponge to get all of the old stuff out.
I dont do this any more, because i dont have as much spare time, and my knees are fuct

Sounds good m8 - iv emptied res out reved it up with ionic (1.6?) And turned it of so it don't run into the rest of the systems I've got a fish tank heater in res set at 20 oC ' so it will be ready 2 moro the rest of rdwc system is still top right up 2 the top Dutch pro ect - it will get them through the night. Then 2moro I'll pump the rest of it out and I'll stick hose pipe in far end slowly running fresh water (12oc)and I'll wait till ec and ph reach base rates ' then il no she ready 4 res tank (300lts) 2 be pump in?

I'm about to start up my rdwc and I read that the max ec the good growers go to is 1.4 so maybe ease off the feed a bit. Not sure whether you need calmag with ionic or not.

Cal mag is only needed in softwater areas depending on your water quality and ro water

My tap water ec is about 0.45 . Would you say I will need calmag? Ive also read my local water quality report and most of that EC is calmag.
