got electric fan heater. want to swap the cable to make it longer so it reaches the controller. simple job i know but....

this gold wire crimp has a sleeve on it saying 125degree. now do i need the exact same crimp connector as pictured or can i use a normal connector as i have lots of the bkue/red ones at home.

What type of crimp you using joker . If you're using a scotch type crimp and you have the correct amp crimp for the cable you should be fine . As far as I know the crimps are high temp / fire retardant .

All the cables in your heater seem to have high temp sleeves on them . You can buy a fire retardant sleeve just for extra protection

Get one of these and extend the cable externally the 2 halves separate and push together that's how I do mine...

Make sure the connector plug is rated to the wattage of the heater... most should be but there are some crap ones in maplin that are only rated to 2Kw.
I know that sounds alot but prolonged use at the plugs limit can build up heat more than a cable because its a connector.
I know ppl will disagree with me but i always verge on saftey with electicity. My old man was an electrical engineer and when i was a kid he drummed safety saftey safety into me.
Had a few near misses in my time (when i was younger and knew everything) but ive now learnt my lesson and go overboard when it comes to saftey, especially electrical things..
    Just mho...
