I am new to this forum, obviously, and want to learn. I have extensive horticulture experience over the past 40+ years at the University level (35+ years) and in private industry in a wide variety of crops and plants. I have over 35 research publications in a number of related areas and serve as a Consulting Reviewer (pro bono) for a major prestigious horticulture scientific journal. I am very familiar with the research process from grant writing to submitting to peer-reviewed journals.
I am now working in the private industry as a consultant but realize there is a lot to learn about different crops and how to manage them. I admit that I am here to learn management strategies for this crop. But I am here to give advice where I can. I admit when I know things and when I am speculating. I am familiar with field production, greenhouse, hoophouse, hydroponics, aquaponics, NTF, ebb and flow, aeroponics, container production and a number of other general horticulture techniques. I also own and operate a family farm.
I have been reading posts in other forums for several years on marijuana cultivation and was both surprised and a little disappointed in the information being promoted. Some of it is eye-opening while others are...lets say..."imaginative". If you have been reading a lot of posts I think you know what I mean. I have not read in this forum extensively but the little I have read was refreshing and those posting were eager to learn. I will be making comments on posts here and there. If you have any questions or comments you can reach me directly and privately through email.
