Default Themostatic Heater & Cooling device in one!

    Hi People

So the other day i was looking for a thermostat to switch on a AC unit and stumbled across this nifty little device called Inkbird ITC-300 series.
Took a punt and got it after reading reviews (majority of people using it to brew their own ales) and am very impressed so far.

I bought the one with a 12inch probe, it's £33 for the longer probed version or £27 odd for the shorter one which in fairness is probably just as good.
It does both heating and cooling, alternates between the two and can have base points set + - of the target temp, alarm and a few other cool functions.

Not used it in the tent yet, but it responds very quickly to temp change, swapping from boiling to cold water sees the temp change within a few seconds and the heating / cooling relay kicks in retrospectively. You can use just the one mode if needed as well

    Will keep you posted mate
As i think you know, last plants turned and sometimes temps were a bit high for my liking so we're going all out with an air con unit (until we move flat where we can actually vent fresh air in)

I wanna keep the temps between 18-26c at tops so hope this can do that, as it reflected temp changes in the water quickly i'm hoping this can adjust quickly to slow ambient temp changes.

I guess this would work really well too if you do have an active inline vent from outside, with a fan controller this would be spot on

I'm going to be making some sort of white grill for my probe to sit inside.
I've found that the probes made for liquid temp reading get hotter with the direct light. So I'm making some sort of protector that will allow air flow but block the direct light. That way you can sit the probe exactly level with the top of the canopy and get a truer reading.

Most of my temp probes I use are for water/liquid and I keep them inside 2 cheap plastic thermometers taped together. I know this works because all of my temp probes are within .5 of a degree of each other and match up to the cheap Mercury thermometers. I'll get a pic up later so you can see. 😆
