All back in place. Lawnmower etc covers most of it, but this gap along the front is the only visible part. When I start digging I will rub dirt against all the fresh cut edges to 'camouflage, or age them a bit so they don't draw attention.

The second two pics didn't load for some reason, so here's the shot of the two separate tapdoors

Thanks! I'm going to need luck I think. I reckon either the ground will be too hard to dig, or the hole will fill with water before I can concrete it.

This is a great plan although it sounds like a huge amount of work. But im really interested and also love this kind of thing so im sitting in on this if thats ok.
Good luck BFG, i hope the ground under the shed is not too hard. Is the water table close to the surface where you live? Is there any re-bar in the concrete pad the shed sits on?
If not... drill the holes a bit closer (half inch) before breaking it along the holes with a splitter so you dont break any of the concrete pad outside of your hole as this could cause damp problems in the shed and even off balance the shed if the pad splits and each half settle in opposite directions. Also it depends on how thick the pad is. Ive put up loads of sheds in different situations and on different foundations (1 was on a floating foundation about 100 meters out in a loch in Scotland as a fishing cabin) so im sure im over thinking it a bit but i always measure and think 3 times, then cut.....if you know what i mean..
    Good luck mate...
    Im intrigued...🖒

    Thanks for the input!
Having got the floor ready, I'm now back to work
So need to wait take my next day off when I'm home along to 'break ground'
Once I've done the noisy bit of breaking the concrete I can do bits of digging late at night. Then I just have to worry about bagging up and getting rid of all the dirt without raising any suspicions!

I'll break the concrete in the middle to see how thick it is first. Any advice for how close to the edge I can go? I was thinking about 20cm?

    The drilling has commenced!
The concrete base is only about 5cm thick, but it's still noisy and long to drill. The neighbours car Ian one though so they r out for now....
I think I will leave 30cm around the edge, for the best chance of the remaining base staying together. Fingers crossed!

Test hole and then main hole drilled out
    Attachment 338668

There were definately rats there at some point, what they can dig through is amazing!

Main hole opened. This is almost big enough for the grow box on its own. I will dig this out completely before widening the hole, to make sure I can get deep enough. Then I wan to widen it enough to sink a couple of plastic boxes to hours fan and filter, and hopefully a separate drying maybe even veg room.

I did get some cracks though :-/ stupid me I started with the sledge hammer, I should have used the pickaxe. The first crack down the middle was already there, but got slightly wider. The others are new. I'm hoping it will be ok, as it has been there so long I hope the ground is fully settled, although I'm about to unsettle it:-/ so long a short it doesn't fall down in two years it's ok

Thankfully I have somewhere to dump the dirt. Although I still have to be quite stealth about getting the bags from the shed to the car. It will be hard to use the long handled hole diggers and lift out the dirt in the confines of the shed, quietly. So it will take a long time, a little bit here and there. Moving the shed around so I can lift that big trapdoor each time.
    Hope it's worth it!
Will start some autos at some point anyway, beg for a bit in a box in the workshop, as they won't smell. Then I have a spot in mind to put them out guerilla style. But if the box is ready by then, so much the better
