Need the right light for 2nd grow, advice pleeeeease!!!!!

Hi, I'm looking for a new light after only ever using my Mars 30w LED. I've spotted an Omega 600w dual spectrum grow light kit on ebay, what are your thoughts/experiences? Or can anyone reccomend the best light possible for around the £70 price tag?

Just harvested and dried my 1st plant but only a 16g yeild so want to improve on that 2nd time around.

Any advice MUCH appreciated

I can only offer limited help as I'm still on my first grow. Currently in the flowering stage of an Auto Strain using an Omega 300w Dual spec with reflector and it's so far so good. A mate had 3 plants under his and got pretty good yields averaging around 3-5 oz per plant. I'm guessing it's all down to how much you want to grow and how serious you want to get with it all. HID is still the workhorse...the new ceramic ones too...i dunno much about led

Viz has started a thread on the Phillips range and I'll certainly be having a look into these but I love the tried and tested HID one thing I would advise is to get a dimmable ballast because I got one that wasn't and it became a pain in the arse not being able to use different strength bulbs.

Thanks Redz, great, just had a look and there's a 600w with shade, duel spectrum bulb and dimmabe ballast for £84 but it's worth the extra for dimmable. I'm gonna REALLY go for it on this next grow! Gonna try, sea of green method and topping more than just the once as I did on this one. Plus better feed during veg!

What size grow room do you have?

Right now it's only a 2.5ft x 2.5ft, can just fit 2 plants in it.

In that size room, ventilation being adequate, you should manage a 400w HPS.

A 600w HPS is going to be hard work to keep the temps in check

A 250w HPS with Super Lumen is also another option

That's where the dimmable will come in handy girl for the summer heat in the small groom and we all know that room will be bigger before we know it lol.
I would also recommend using the correct watt bulb with the setting you want I believe it drains them faster running them at other watts

Thanks guys, I'm seriously thinking of just growing the 1 plant in there and using LST to get a good even canopy and top them at least twice, I think I'd get more bud that way as apposed to 2 plants again because there's not enough room to LST 2 plants. I'll get a nice BIG final pot too and just do everything I can to maximise the yeild. If I could get 3-4 oz from a single plant I'd be frikkin thrilled with that! So for 1 plant in that room still go for the 400w hps or 250 super luminem?
