Will follow this one I think.
    Mad mini grow : )
My advice is a very quick veg an seedling straight
    In final pot.
Or 12/12 from seed would probably
    Be better.

Is that because of height restrictions? I do plan on using the tops of other buckets for spacers and originally had a ball park figure of a month veg, especially since i want to top it. Flowering it really early gives me the feeling i'd lose out on a good period of plant development.

Your CFL don't have much penetration so you don't
Want a tall plant.and yes for height.
I have 1 metre from top of pot to my max light height
I veg for one week after potting up and that with harsh training
Gives me a 2ft plant.as CFL is slower I'd maybe give it 2 weeks
After pot up at the most.

Autos would be better in there I reckon

I was so torn between photoperiod and autoflowering, but in the end i though i might as well go for photos since i have a timer.
Thanks very much though. I think ill stick to you advice of max two weeks before switching, along with stress training.
My idea is to sort of spiral the plant around and keep the colas at an even height. Seems like an efficient use of space,
    especially with CFLs.

Think topping or similar would be beneficial here?

Fair point. I hear it's often counterproductive in soil, although at least i know that if i see problems relating to PH i can hopefully fix them.

Yeah I'd top it and bend the shoots, that will give you
Even canopy hopefully.really need a flat canopy for
    Penetration.

That was my 600w CFL grow.hopefully that is the right pg.no pics at the start.
If I rem right those lights gave me 1 ft of proper penetration.

Thanks ERBURT. Sounds like a plan. Given it's my first real attempt at a grow many would say not to top but i feel i've done enough research on LST and topping and have experience in general horticulture anyway.
Besides, i'll be sure to run anything by you guys first before the chop. I'll just keep the goal in mind. I simply want to encourage the plant to not grow in the typical tree style but instead get the canopy as even as possible, making sure as much surface area as possible is exposed to equal light. I have soft pipe cleaners which should do the job for LST. I've read lots of "horror" stories about ties digging in to plants and potentially inhibiting growth of branches so i want to avoid that by checking the ties regularly.

Hi guys, i read this advice, specific to space buckets.

It is better to flower early than late. As a rule of thumb, give your plant about one month of veg before flipping to flower. You can veg for more, sure, but that can also mean a taller plant inside the bucket. Cannabis plants can get really tall really fast in the first weeks of flower, something we usually call "the stretch". Fight the stretch with all the tools you've learnt and you will have a good harvest. Different strains have different heights, but you should always try to keep it as short as you can. That means that you need to train your plant early and hard: I apply LST after the second week, and also at least one topping. Supercropping can be a great way to limit the stretch while strenghtening the plant. As a rule of thumb, don't let your bucket use more than 4 or 5 spacers. If you go higher than that the lighting won't be optimized, and you will have a poor yield with popcorn buds.
Any thoughts on that? I understand that topping too early is at best counterproductive and at worst very damaging. Topping when there's a few leaf sets seems like the consensus amongst people. Will the plant be well enough developed by two weeks for topping? Should i drop topping altogether and maybe go for FIM, or none? I assume i shouldn't top while the plant is flowering. I basically feel that topping the plant and not allowing adequate time for the resulting other nodes to grow well will defeat the point of the topping.

Soon as the plant has 4-5 nodes top it.
And train/bend the shoots as soon as they are
Long enuff.this will keep them down and easy
To manage and ending nice n even after stretch.
Defo don't veg for a month jus 2 weeks id do.
