    Hi mate,

It's the first one you want.
Also, get yourself some dolomite lime (not garden lime)

All I can say is the last bag of verve I got was as soon as I wet it and put it under the lamp it started crawling with flies pretty harmless to my plants but really annoying someone on here suggested get the bag from lower down the pile can't think ATM the reason behind it.

With mine, I first sieve it to remove plastics, stones, large clumps that haven't broken down.
Then, I use a deep roasting tin and fill it with no more than 2 litres of soil at a time. Gas mark 1 - 2 (no higher than that) and stir from time to time.

Then pour it into a bin.

    Repeat process.

Once I have enough, I add 1 tablespoon of Dolomite Lime to every 5 litres of dry soil. Mix well, then add water to make it moist (not soaking wet)

This then goes into another bin for the dolomite to activate and for the pH to settle down. A bare minimum of 2 weeks, the longer the better. I have some that's been resting for 4 months or so.

    See my post above.

Do not use it when growing (eg, adding it to a feed) It must be done in advance.

You cannot get it from B&Q - they sell garden lime - similar, but different. It doesn't have the cal-mag ratios needed, whereas Dolomite Lime, does.
