It's easy enough mate, which ever breaker you are wiring into, count how many away it is from the main switch. Make sure the neutral & earth are in the corresponding numbered bars.

5th from the main switch would mean that the neutral & earth should go in the number 5 hole in their bars. Make sure the power is completely off.

I'll do you a quick picture in a sec.

If you follow that picture, make sure that the main switch off & power is fully isolated. We don't want your last post to be " Hey Guys, I'm just off to wire up my loft" lol.

The ring mains for the sockets are pretty straight forward too,

Here is a crude ring main circuit.

Make sure all cables are matched with their counterparts, Lives to Lives, Neutrals to Neutrals & Earths to Earths.

From the Main consumer unit to the loft, I would run 2.5mm twin & earth, it's the same as adding another ring main to the existing unit. I have mine running off a 32A in 2.5mm T&E, I run 2x 600w light a 10" & 12" fan on a controller. an oil rad & a couple of pumps here & there. Also a 100w water heater, & an iPod....

An iPod? Are you playing them some classical music?
