I am currently 30 days into the flower cycle of my first grow (Northern Lights auto) and it's going pretty well.
Some of you may know already that every other week or so when my son visits, for two days my grow situation turns from what is a pretty relaxed cupboard grow into a real stealth operation. I seemed to have this all under control by switching to 12/12 so when the cupboard was sealed I didn't have any heat exhaustion problems. For the last week or so I have noticed that at lights out the room is holding much more humidity, Im guessing it is down to the buds holding much more moisture now as they fatten. This has left me with no option other than to leave the door open over night. This weekend, for obvious reasons this won't be possible.
Could these options solve this?: Leave the light on longer with the heating off/low to fend off moisture. I am worried about this sprouting some hermies and destroying my crop. I have switched back to 18/6 about two weeks back, which I later read up on and learned I should'nt fuck about with light cycles too much (which I have really) so to do so again, so close harvest concerns me a little. The other option (although I have kind of guessed this one myself) was to keep the same lighe cycle but keep a fan running at lights out in a hope to lower humidity. The issue with this is it could lower the grow room temp too much or even dry out he plant. Plus I'm worried about mold/bud rot.
Who would have thought one little plant could cause me so much of a dilemma!
Any advice would be welcomed for this old worrier. And yes, I know I need proper ventilation! I will for sure next time round
