Default New leaves very light green with no other discoloration/problems, old leaves fine

    Hi,

I have 7 plants, one of them is growing OK, but all new growth is a much lighter shade of green, not yellow, but it doesn't look right. It's flowers and their leaves also have much less crystals than the other plants.

Leaves show no sign of usual over or under fertilization, ie spots or burns. Just a very light shade. Old leaves are still the normal shade. I have looked around but can't find any explanation for this.

(pls change DOT to a full stop )

It looks like that close up too, I couldn't take a closer photo because my camera would distort all the colors.

250W, soil, 3 weeks into flowering. Other 5 plants fine, one in recovery.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks,

    Max

Not much it can be if its only top leaves its either Magnesium deficiency or bleaching from the light. In soil you should of sprayed plants with organic magnesium or epsom salts or magcal+.

    cheers
the light is 250W and about 25cm away, quite cool at the top of the plants.

maybe my fertilizer is weak? bio-bizz bloom 2-7-4.. the N seems lower than other fertilizers, could that be it?

You need to use 1ml of Bio Grow or Fish Mix with 2-4ml of Bio Bloom during flowering stage. While you don't want high N in late flower, they still need it until last couple of weeks. Just give the yellowing plant 1/2ml per litre of Grow / Fish Mix, next time you feed and if the others are fine, leave them on current feeding schedule.

it is not nitrogen deficiency if its top leaves, nitrogen is mobile and will transfer from bottom leaves. biobizz, soil, uk tap water, its almost certainly magnesium. 250w hps in flower should be able to go closer than 25cm, use back of your hand if its hot its too close. i have not used my 250w hps for years but sure its about 8inchs. good luck.

Hi all, thanks for the tips.

I have flushed the soil and hoping it goes back to a nice shade of green. Another plant (the new growth) has started going light green too 8(, I will flush it today.

    Thanks,

    thanks!
