Hello all after rooting in root cubes what size pot should I use(air pots). should I go 1 or 2 litre to start ?? then straight into 20 litre.

I will be doing around 6-8 week veg from seed.

go 2, then 6 or 8, then 15 , then 20, making sure the pot is fully rooted before transplant, and tease the roots away form the edges when you transplant.
That way you know the entire final pot will be rooted out.
20 litre pots is a bit overkill tho, if you are in coco, 10's or 15's are more than enough.

unless you are doing autos, and then its straight into the final pot.

Thanks billybob pleased I have asked this question now. So 2-6-15 would be the way to go.

I know this is a hard question but what kind of time scale (roughly) would re potting take place from seed. Will I see the roots emerging from the air-pots.

good question and i honestly dont know, it would depend on strain development, feed, how often you feed it etc etc, but as a rough guide, i would say it would be safe to say at least a fortnite between each potting up.
You wont see roots coming thru the airpot holes, but you should be able to peel back the pot to check if the roots are at the outside edge of the rootball
    cheers

If you went from 2 to 15 in soil I'd expect to see roots at the bottom within 2 weeks

Tbh I dont really see the need for potting up in coco.

In soil yes as its done to give more food to the plant, but as coco is inert then its getting its food from you.

By all means get a good root system going in a 3" coco block or a 1 litre airpot before transferring into a final 15 (as bbbb said thats plenty big enough)

It wont be easy and quite messy I think transferring from an 8 to a 15,as they will be quite large by then and will take some handling.

Your going to have issues on pot up trying to fit a 6L airport rootball into a 15L airport. Filling around the sides with fresh coco medium will be difficult. You want to make sure the coco is packed tight into the side of the pots, by doing the above your going to be tight for space. I'd go 2L then straight to 15 litre. coco root development is rapid you'll soon fill the pots with a root stim

Thanks for all your replies, 2l to 15l it is. Should the 2l be airpot or just normal.

I don't think they do a 2L airpot, just a standard square pot will be fine
