    Default Answered: Consider using soil

So I've had a few grows under my belt with coco I'm wondering is it worth doing it in soil a friend of my does his in soil n there seems to be less overall maintenance.
What's people's thought should I stick to coco or try soil.

Soil is more friendly to new growers & gives the advantage of growing organically...

Why not give soil a try... you can always swap back to coco for the next grow if you don't get on with it "

I would stick to coco. Just my personal opinion though .It's easier to fix a problem, growth is quicker and buds are bigger. Flushes well and gives you good smell and taste.. All it needs is feeding everyday. If you can't be asked built a dripper system

I'd stick with coco too tbh, ALWAYS easy to look at someone else's system (when all is going well) and think the grass is greener

I grew with soil for maybe 5 years and had a lot of good times with it, but you name a problem I had it at some point...compaction hot spots, nutrient lockouts, hydrophobia (can't be watered) mould, all manner of wee fucking things that live in it, pH issues (which soils gets rarely, but a nightmare to fix if you do) and finally the general manky hassle of buying and disposing of it...Nah, I'd never look back from Coco and Hydro now for indoor work, coco in particular can be as simple or complex as you want to make it and I LOVE having the ability to make quick changes and fine tuning, worth it's weight in gold.

If you stick a couple of inchs coco coir fibre, perlite etc at the bottom of the pots soil can be fed in a water flood system quality wise organic wins hands down and this is fast becoming a well know fact now.

I prefer soil, although it takes longer to fix problems.

I prefer soil also. It's really easy, nothing to it.

My first grow was coco and my next is organic soil with organic nuts and tea. Will see how it goes but coco is laborious if you don't have a system to feed the plants and drain for you. I used to come home after 8 hours graft and spend an hour on the plants every day. Hoping for tastier bud and less work this time round

can you not grow organically in coco? don't know if that's a dumb question but I've only ever used soil and I'm stoned.

There does seem to be a way of doing it but I've never really found anyone who has tried & tested the methods...
