Currently giving the Advanced Nutrients pH perfect 3 parter a trial.
it is keeping the pH at around 5.8/6.0 which I believe is right on the edge for calcium uptake. ??

Advanced nutrients are only ph perfect at full strength & Calcium isn't available above 5.8.. All i'm saying is don't let the "ph perfect" bit, suck you in..

I'd also be concerned that my RO water is 0.1 is your ec meter reading correct or maybe is it time to change the membrane?
Hope you get your issue sorted.
Ph perfect hmm this shit makes me laugh!!!

Last night I decided to lower the pH to 5.6 so the plant has a chance to get some calcium.
Will be keeping a close eye on the plants for any improvement as I still think its calcium related.
The damage is appearing as blotches on the leaves at the start, before it spreads, there's no damage to the leaf tips as with nute burn.

    Cheers

Hi Redz, the essentials EC meter I have , after reading through the book again, apparently only checks between 0.1 to 10.0 EC.
My RO unit has a TDS monitor and final water is at 4 ppm. I think that's about 0.008 EC so not picked up by the pen.

Will take your advise re changing the membrane/ filters.

    Cheers

    Hi,
are you referring to growing in soil ? as I'm DWC
the nutes I am using have calcium & magnesium in them (part of the micro) and are "supposed" to be best suited for RO water according to the "blurb" which I'm starting to think is just that.

    Just an update.
Although I changed the pH of the feed to 5.6 to try get some calcium into the plant, it only got worse.
So I decided to go back to my old nutes (vitalink) Did a complete res change and now after 6 days all is looking great.
So I'll be giving the pH perfect a miss in future.

Cheers, the pH has crept up over the last day or two, as I expected with these nutes (vitalink ) as I've used before, so all looks ok at the moment.
