Grab a load of stinging nettles and submerge them in water. Leave for a week or so. Once it starts smells like cow shit, it's ready. Free Nitrogen.

Might be worth a bash as everywhere I read says they only like organic nitrogen.

Microorganisms in soil without these synthetic fertiliser's fix any nitrogen to whatever plants needs, don't find the nitrogen get some life in the soil is what I'd do brother.
