    Default Set up

    Hi guys,

As my name suggests i am a complete noob when it comes to this and just starting out. I have attached two pics of what i have putting together but would like some advice.

    1) Where is the best place to put the air pipe? These are 5 locations shown on the pic.
    2) is this air pipe intake or outtake? shouldn't i have both, if so please let me know where both should go.
    3) I assume i just attach the carbon filter to the airline inside the tent
    4) lastly, the light for the tent didn't come with any attachments, what would you use to attach it? as dont i have to change the height of the light as the plants grow?

    Thanks in advance

I would use the sock on the top of the tent for your extract and hang your carbon filter inside the tent. You can have your fan inside or out. Have a look on YouTube about putting together a rent and equipment

so use the fan i have as extract, with the carbon filter on that.
Do i then need another bringing air in from outside into the tent?

If you push air out, air will naturally suck in thru any openings to replace it, or even thru gaps in the zippers. My tent always looks like its cheeks have been sucked in, and that prevents odors from escaping except thru your filter. If you push air into the tent, smells will come leaking out of every little opening. It is called "negative pressure".

But definitely watch some videos and read about this stuff. You cant learn fast enough on a forum, or by just asking questions.

if your extraction's good enough and the ambient temp in room isn't too high, you don't need an intake fan. I run 600watt HPS in winter with a 6" ruck for extraction, running at 40% via speed controller. nothing else required.

I haven't used an intake before but I have a spare 4" fan so I'll hook it up to the airing cupboard and pull some warm and more importantly dry air into the tent. It's not strictly necessary with smaller setups. A good extractor and filter is the most important thing with a single lamp. And yes, circulation fans inside the tent are really important when the plants are in flower. You can get away without one during veg but they help to strengthen your stems
