Minimum lighting ? Currently on 1/2, can I go to 1/7 ?
I have a few clones that I want to grow as slowly as possible while still keeping them healthy. One may become a clone mother plant, not sure about the rest yet. Just want to keep females until I decide I like the strain enough to grow it out again. I have a small tent, but I think plenty of light for the area for vegging/clones. 140W LED in an 18x30x30 (inches) space. Intensity is not my concern. Schedule is.
Right now I am under a 1/2 lighting schedule (1 on 2 off). How much can I push this and still maintain a healthy plant? Can I do 1 on 5 off? 1 on 7 off? What would be the signs that they are not getting enough light every day? In a 1/7 schedule, that is only three hours of light a day. Is that enough?
I don't want to bonsai the plants and start getting tiny leaves. In fact I just up-potted them to 1 gallon pots. I just want slow growth until my current crop is ready.
Please no theory, just want responses from someone who has actually done it.

I know you said no theory, but I'd just FIM them and hope for the best. That's if its the height of growth thats your concern.

A sign of not enough light is stretch and overall healthyness such as paleness , very week stems etc
I find with leds ,the lights doesnt provide good light emition beyond its footprint . But if lifted a bit it can make do but youll have to cntrol stretch with lst trsining i wouldnt go beyond a 2sq ft area wth a 150w
Is this the led true wattage or the lamps rated wattage ?

Rated wattage is 300. Actual wattage 135. I think.
But I am finding 1/2 is resulting in really pale new growth. Went to 24/0 for a few days, plants greened up nicely. Gonna try again, this time at 2/2 (more light per day) or maybe 4/8 (longer cycles). My gut says 8 hours a day of light should be enough for healthy maintenance and modest growth, so I just talked myself into trying 4/8 first.

I am trying to develop an environment where clones and seedlings can be maintained until ready for veg cycle. if I take clones from a mother plant, I want it to remain healthy and small until I am ready for the next batch (1-3) of clones (probably 8-9 weeks).
FWIW, 1/2 is not the same to the plant as 4/8. It definitely likes the longer light periods (4/8), even though hours per day is the same either way. But they are still not as green as I would like, Will probably shift to 5/7 next and see how they respond.

Most strains are going to need 14 hours of light each day to stay in veg.

What matters to the plant to stay in veg, and for staying alive, is:
a. The number of uninterrupted darkness is less than ~12.
b. The total number of light hours which will produce enough energy for the plant to keep healthy metabolism.
For example, if you keep a schedule of 0.5 hour light / 8 hours dark, your plant will not enter flowering,
but it will be extremely stressed, and probably die within a week.
You are basically trying to keep a plant in suspended animation.
For that I would say try to give the plant total number of ~6 hours of light per 24 hours at the minimum, without any period of darkness longer than 8 consecutive hours.
In addition, light is not the only factor here, you should also reduce the temperature to ~15 degrees Celsius.
Disclaimer:
I'm very new to Cannabis, haven't grown a single plant yet, but I have worked with other plants for many years, so I think this should apply here too.
