Hello Dex , good to see you, hope your keeping well my friend... Yes they'll be plenty of fresh homegrown meals for Blue later on this year. Looking forward to getting stuck in through the summer

Trusty camera phone for the pics mate, just requires a very steady hand.... Ive got at least 5 varieties of chilli and not a single one showing themselves yet. Bloody things, I've raised the soil temps slightly now, that should give them a kick up the arse

Got plenty going on there blue. My few veggies have been in the soil for 5 days. The green beans are up and out already. Looking forward to my beef tomatos though. It claims they can weigh from 300/400 grams per fruit. Thsts one juicy bleeder 😂😂

    A couple of pics

Recent one of the chilli variety

Golden and purple Milan Turnip all planted outside last week and sprouted within 4 days

Il be thinning these out into 10cm spacing. So it should work out at 4 rows of 4 which will be plenty

Evening all, what a lovely weekend. Perfect for a bit of gardening

So as previous the majority of my veggies will be grown in jacks magic multipurpose compost. However I thought it would be interesting to stick a couple of chilli plants in canna coco and air pots.

Airpot filled with coco and a dusting of great white

    First in, Medusa chilli plant

And the other, A cherry bomb chilli plant

    Both soaking up some sun

Il be feeding these with ph,d water, some canna A,B, Rhizotonic and some pk13/14 in the later stages.

Should be a good comparison grown alongside the same variety in soil

I've got baby marrow of the Way... tomato, cauliflower, broccoli and spinach all in a small indoor space ... first grow of veggies indoor.. done carrots and weed but the way vegetables grow is a little different to weed ... guess they aren't as nutrient specific

Do you use any perlite or vermiculite to aerate the coco for the veggies or do the take well to straight coco?

    Thanks again

Hello stirl, no I don't bother with any extras like perlite etc. Most plants take well to coco. It has excellent aeration and drainage straight from the bag. The air pots also help a lot

Hey Hobbit, alls going ok not a great deal to report as the weathers been hit a miss at the moment. Cold nights are having an effect on the root temps but we're nearing nice weather now I hope.

Here's a few pics I have to hand

The turnips have shot up since the last update but soon became a feeding ground for a few pests. They've had a good soaking of pest spray which soon sorted the problem.

The coco chilli's have finally started new growth. There's plenty of roots into the coco. So should be ready for take off soon.

    As for the rest

I think there long over due a repot don't you

Hopefully get everything sorted in a day or two and start them all on ecothrive microbe teas. Update and plenty of pics to follow

Everything's looking lovely and healthy brother,
Hope your keeping up the ipm mate.
Should be getting a motor real soon which will open up another part of my gardening dreams so to say and I managed to get the whole back part of my sisters garden which will give me 2 nice hugulkultur beds and a compost pile.

Already filled loads of it with Barley straw lol

It'll sure be nice knowing I can avoid a grow shop and eventually a supermarket if I can help it that's for sure.
    Blessings brother

Thanks jack, outdoor gardening is as easy as you make it. I'm sure with the extra time on your hands, a bag off good soil and plenty of sun will give you good results this time around

Hello brother the imp is now in full control. Those critters loved the turnips but have now realised I take no prisoners and moved on lol.

Sounds like your all set ready to get things into action Redz. The extra space at your sisters sounds great that sure will come in handy ey mate.

Looking forward to seeing what you make of it
