Question 600w hps vs 1000w metal halide

Quick question setting up first room.
I can get new 600w for apron $300 or I can pickup the 1000w for about $50 2nd hand.
The 1000w can easily have fans conected and have glass screens.
My room when finished will be about 1m wide 3m long and 1.8 high
I haven't brought fans or filter yet. Which would you wonderful people pick to do it right first time? Cheers

    Go for the 600w..
Better to buy a new bit of kit..
Sometimes you get a bulb thrown in...
Invest in a good fan and filter as these will help you out long term..
The above is just opinion..My opinion is law in my world..

600W is more efficient than 1000W.. go with Happy Roken's advice and buy new... RVK fan and rhino pro filter is a must.

Mh are best for veg stage. Hps best for flowering.
The bulbs are not expensive. £30 for a pair (one of each) on eBay.
I'd Base my decision on what comes with the 2nd hand one. If it's just the lamp and housing then you still need the ballast and also if you don't know the age of the bulb you'll probably buy a new one anyway.
So look at the 2nd hand one for parts less the bulb and compare value against new. If if comes with a 1000w digital ballast of a good brand I'd grab that and buy new bulbs.

It's a bit like comparing a new car vs 2nd hand. The moment you but it the value plummets so you can sometimes find a good low usage one.
    Just my thoughts.

Cheers for advice. The lights are still in use but the bulbs look pretty used. The center bit is black so was planning on bulbs for them. Will go new based on the input thank you

I'd also take a look at dual spectrum bulbs
