Dumping Hot Air - Where?

Hello

One of my last questions before I finally purchase and starting growing.

I have the following setup and will be growing two sativa/hybrid plants.

Secret Jardin HS80 measures 80cm x 80cm x 160cm
Euro with Maxibright Compact & 400W Sunmaster Lamp
Maxiswitch 2-Way Light Controller (10A) With Grasslin Timer
RUCK Fan & Rhino Pro Filter With Standard Ducting - 5 inch (365m3)

I am growing in my loft space and have one little velux window. I can see no signs of any vents. Does the filter/fan need to lead anywhere outside? Or will the filter get rid of the smell without needing to release any of the air outside?

I don't really want to have ducting hanging out the window or anything.

160cm is quite short if your intending on growing sativas it sativa dominant hybrids. Indicas would be better suited or good training of sativas.

You can probably get away with the existing background ventilation around the eaves but a smell may still build up even with a filter.

Is there not a chimney you can get into?

You need to watch out for temp problems mate if you don't have a decent air exchange. You need fresh air coming in, so ideally you need the hot air going somewhere else otherwise it will be drawn back in (passive intake)

160 is short. Between pot height and hanging lights you lose 50cm easy

I have an apex roof so whilst I could just about squeeze a 2 meter high tent in the middle, at the sides of the tent it would only go up to about 175 high :-(

I have my tent in a 20ft x 10 ft space and just pump the hot air in to the same room, leave a window open for fresh air to come in. No problems with the plants and there is no smell what so ever.
