Default Better to oversize carbon filter?

    Hi
Would it be ok to oversize my carbon filter?
Im thinking of getting a 6" rhino pro the long version and a 5" fan for a 1.2x1.2x2m tent.
I used a 5" fan and filter previously and you could hear the air sucking through the filter.
    Would this stop that?
    Thanks

If the filter is bigger while the fan stays the same, it means air will move slower past the filter.
    Which is good.

Your filter should be always rated higher than your fan. Otherwise it won't be doing the job properly and you are risking smell leaks.

That i dont get a leak between the first filter and the fan or a tear in the duct that turns my building into a reek fest of pot.

Im sorry i wasnt clear enough. I use no fan intake on the tent. I mean the intake side of the exhaust fan

Ah, I see, makes much more sense then a filter on an intake fan
