    Default Exhaust for my led grow.

    Hi

    My grow space is 3'4"x2'2"x6'2" i will be running a single 450w Viparspectra LED.

    Will i get away with passive ventilation? there is a 8"x8" skylight in the room i could utilise. I was wondering if i could somehow make this light tight if that would be enough?

    If not perhaps a number of PC fans?

    A large extractor isnt really an option for me as I am on a tight budget and power usage and noise is an issue.

    Cheers =)

    More info needed and the first question is how do you plan to handle the smell by creating that much needed negative pressure?

    Hi, thanks for your reply. I was going to make or if i can afford it buy a carbon filter. So perhaps what i should be asking is what size exhaust fan can i get away with? and what size passive intake? I have to do this on the tightest possible budget.

    I was thinking perhaps 4 120mm pc fans with a homemade carbon filter like the one in the diy section made from two mesh pots some tights and some active carbon. . some clip on fans to move the air about. A passive intake. Any idea if that would work? I was hoping to get away with not shelling out for an rvk if i can help it.

    If home made carbon filters were any good then we would all be using them....!

    Convert the sizes to cm & it would be easier.... but, at a guess, a 5" system is what you are probably looking for

    You need a CF without a doubt and some fairly good extraction.

    Good plants need good environments so if you are going to do it, do it right.

    Yes, a 5" Controllable Extraction Fan should do the job with a good quality 5" CF. Remember that control, it can make it very quiet because it will be oversize which is good.

    The area you have is 44.54 cubic meters or 1.26 Cubic meters therefore work backwards from there.

    Spot the obvious error.....sorry.

    Should read "The area you have is 44.54 cubic FEET or 1.26 Cubic meters therefore work backwards from there."
