    Default Fan size please

What would be the best size intake fan on a tent 80x80x140. I was going to go with a 5".

5inch extractor fan and either 4inch intake or better just go passive(with out using intake fan and use the mesh vents on the tent)

intake - brings in the air
    extractor -removes air

Exactly what joker said. Just suck or blow air out of the tent and let it come in the tent on its own.

I use a 600 hps in a 1.2 tent and I only use a 125mm to suck air out of the tent and into my chimney.

The main key to good extraction is to get the warm air out of the room and prevent it from recirculating so you're always getting clean, cool air going in.

I have a 5" extractor fan with a carbon filter attached to it already but when I turned my light on I hit temperatures of 35c. I had to modify my tent to get it to fit into my attic so the mesh vents that was at the bottom are now under the tent as its shorter. I was going to put a 5" fan at the bottom blowing in cold air, would it be best to have it sucking the air out then? I could modify the tent again my making my own vents at the bottom.

I would have the filter outside the tent with the fan sucking air out of the tent and blowing it through the filter.

Consider using a cool tube if you need to lower temps further. That or a 6" fan.

Are you just extracting into the space the tent is in?

The tent is in my attic and I have the extractor pipe blowing outside the roof.

Perfect. If you're getting your hot air outside the house then you should do fine with a 5/6" fan.

Just watch out for the temps getting too high in the loft during summer. Perhaps consider an intake from outside too if it's possible.

Always best to extract hot air to outside
And have an intake sucking from outside.
That way you combat temps from inside
