Default DWC Early Veg System - Build guide

    Hey All,

Because I'm starting out in the world of RDWC, I am going to need a small space to start my plants, before moving them up to the RDWC system.

I came up with the following idea, its very simple, but I thought you guys might be interested.

    Materials:
    4x 6" Net pots
1x 64L Black plastic box (with lid)
    1x 2.5LPM air pump
    2x air stones
    2x none return valves
    1x old propagation lid (42cmx52cm)
    Some clay pebbles

    Tools:
    Electric Jigsaw
    Stanley Knife
    Drill
    5.5mm HSS drill bit

First I selected my box, I decided on a 64L extra tough, black, really useful box. But i guess, any box that is best for you is fine, I wanted to make sure that I had enough spacing between the net pots to allow for a little root growth, and also I wanted something reasonably deep for the same reason

Then I worked out where I wanted my net pots to fit

Then I cut out the holes, First by drilling a hole in the bit i was cutting out and then using my jigsaw to finish the job and then put the net pots in.

I kept the cut outs as they will make handy covers when I don't have all the pots filled.

To make the propagation lid fit correctly I had to trim a little from the bottom

I drilled 5.5mm holes with a drill bit for metal (nice and sharp) and placed the two air lines through them, they formed a nice snug fit.

    Hope this helps someone.

Currently I have a tiny little air pump, but in a couple of weeks, I'll be upgrading to a 10LPM pump and 4 air stones.
