In short no but.... if you look around you might be able to pick up some 2nd hand eqipment for cheap from have a go and fail people. I got a dimable ballest for 30 quid not long ago and a hailea 150 for aboit 70 quid. So its possible.

Just remember if you buy cheap you buy twice.

You can get a cheap tent on ebay for 50 quid but it wont last very long.

Also on onestop they have a 600 w light kit for 50 quid. But then again youll also need the extraction to keep up with the lighting.

Plus timer, nutrient, medium, pots, circ fan/fans, humidifier the list goes on.

One thing i will say though is growing is a costly hobby and youll never stop buying. With all that being said if you put down 500 notesish. Youll more than save on your first grow. Then you can ditch the dealer

You can start with £150 with the lights, tent ,tubs,soil clip on fans and get started
But now here is the rub
If you were doing autos they will be in veg about 4 weeks then they start to flower and smell
I've just checked price of rhino kit my son got and that is £100+ alone
I have a mate who uses ona blocks and incence sticks and a plug in air freshener and he has grown for years
But me personally where I live I wouldn't risk running without it
I can't give you the name of the hydro shop near me as its against forum rules ( for good reason)
Google hydro shop in your town ,I've been buying my soil online at £20 / 50 litre but hydro shop sells it for £12
But the guys on here are clued in to eBay prices but I'm not mate
So yea its possible to start with a budget

Nice one for the reply, is an extractor fan absolutely vital or could I do without it for the first grow?

If you are in a wide open space, where you can only smell it then Yes, but if others can smell, then you might want to do the fans. good luck and happy growing / You need less fan going in, and more fan going out. This way the tent stays suck in, and helps with the smell's getting taking away.

I would add don't get greedy as well -'just grow enough for your needs ,many a time I've thought I'll stick some more beans in
Then I slap myself I did four last time gonna just do two next
Don't tell anyone who don't live with you not even your dealer for advice thctalk is here for that don't even tell your mum
Also don't put anything air fresheners in the tent itself
Hygrometers as well you'll need as little as 99p on ebay
Get started and try and sort out filter a couple of weeks later

Starting imo biobizz allmix or light mix but I'm gonna try plant magic soil supreme all have enough food in for roughly 3 to 4 weeks taking an auto to flower
All have perlite in
They are pretty much geared for cannabis
A bottle of old timers bloom will see you to chop down about a £10
Although I did feed mine a bit of fish mix in veg only just a tickle though and molasses towards the end
you can get b and q verve and bag of perlite
but I've just put some in garden and it stinks like shite no way is that going in the house
I think biobizz range is tailored to dutch water and plant magic range for UK water ,not too sure if true

Hi and welcome to the forum mate, I dont think you need to spend a massive amount on equipment if all you want to do is a couple of autos for yourself then have a look on this forum and you will see people do it for around £100 also theres loads of micro grows and autoflower guides on youtube and on this forum have a scroll through.
