    Default Green Around Part Of Root System

    I have never grown with soil in a clear container before. So not sure if this is normal, but do not recall ever seeing any green around root system when dumping a harvested pot before..

    Not sure what this is and if it is normal..

    Hi mate,

    It looks like algae - the same type that you get if you leave water in a bucket outside for ages. It's best to put you plant into a dark container, not a clear one.

    I thought about algae...

    So are the roots in danger if it is algae ?

    Best thing to do now is to prune the roots if plant is still in veg. Cut the affected part of the soil and roots and transfer to a bigger dark container with good drainage. Top up with suitable soil and give it time to recover.

    Green part of plants = light.
    Roots = complete darkness.
    Get rid of as much algae as poss and cover that clear box, roots need darkness, thats why they are inthe ground.
    Good luck mate 🖒
