Default Going to a hydro store...

Am I being silly to feel extremely paranoid about going to a grow shop for a carbon filter?

Have been to grow shops before for other "normal" gardening supplies but never for one of those.

Use someone else's car to go there. Or take public transportation if possable.

The stuff is sold legally so your technically not doing anything wrong... you can grow tomatoes etc in tents with the same equipment,

I most order online and only go to hydro if I need something then and there... however yes it still feels dodgey 😂

Iv always orderd online alot of the timw its cheaper anyways and deliverd to your door. Just make sure its a company that understands "discrete packaging". I once bought a cheap ebay tent and nothing about it was discrete.

I've always bought from the hydro store, I went to a few near by first, eventually found one I liked. I've been going for years, i have a good relationship with the guy. He will always give me a deal, he knocked £100's off the equipment I got for the groom recently.

Also it's a pretty big outfit with an online store so he's amazing for giving honest opinions on gear, I don't care what he thinks, I care about how many come back because they are faulty.

I buy bits online like all the pipework for my new RDWC system, and the boxes. But I'd rather take cash in to the shop than have all those transactions on my bank statement. And like a few have said they is nothing illegal about buying any of the equipment, if your really worried put some tomato / chilli plants in the windows and you have an excuse to go to a gardening shop.

I used to use the Growell in Merry Hill (just outside the shopping center!), the staff member I got on with there was fanatical about growing Orchids - since then I often contemplate giving orchids a bash

The store might make you feel paranoid but at least they don't have your address etc on record. Walk in, choose item and pay cash. Or you could order online where they have your name, address, email address etc.
