Default Water temp qustions in DWC

    heya late night tokers
so im on the 25th night for flowring, its my second grow overall, first time hydro.. and its crazy hot here with canopy level at 24 \ 28c with ac on \ off , 23-5 at night also ac is on \ off tentaviely as its a central unit..hence my water temp is way above 21c without frozen bottles inside, the water are always at least 2c above room temp when lights are on, now checked for the first time tonight water temp since i got my green light, and the temps on 3 different buckets are as following: bucket A (18L): 22c bucket B (18L): 19c bucket C (30L): 21c, dropped frozen bottles 3-4 hours ago so temps may climb a lil more..

When I put a bottle within 1 hour it goes as low as 15c then rises within 3-4 hours to 21 and up again so questions....

    - am i doing alright with these night temps? say they can raise by another 1-2c
    - when res gets to 15c even if for an hour or less, is this harmfull?
    - i reckon the frozen bottles stress my roots as they touch the roots, is this ok?

any other ideas for keeping my water chill that are not peltier(TEC) devices would b appreciated as if i dont put a bottle first thing in the morning it can soar within an hour to 26-28c! with ac on!

and some pics of them babies

I have about 7 2lt bottles in the freezer at all times so I can add them several times throughout the day to maintain lower temps. If you're worried about the temps going too low then add less ice more often.

I'd be a bit worried about the roots touching ice though... That will defo shock them.

You could try the old pc fans (about 9 of them) attach them to the lid and allow them to circulate cool air in the res. Not sure if you have a main res that feeds in to the DWC buckets or if you just fill the buckets.

you could also try filling a larger bucket with ice water and sit the dwc bucket inside that, so it cools the water without the ice directly touching roots

I also hear milk is a longer lasting cooling method than normal water if you freeze it.

see if you were in a rdwc you could have added a chiller as all the pots would be connected so not sure a single chiller in your situation will help, so like reefer said adding frozen bottles are your best bet hope you have large freezer though summer time temps in dwc minus the chiller = headache ( unless you have a very dialed in groom that is)

love the structure of them plants though matey should be belters.

oh best water temps for disolved oxygen are 18 degrees.. i know easy said than done in this weather without use of a chiller to set the temp at

I'm testing a dwc pot ATM using lacto acid bacteria for ph down and as a living culture in my res as I believe this is helping me maintain higher temps.
Lacto is a Facultative microbe so by making this dominant in my reservoir I think nothing bads going to happen I'm averaging water temps of 26/7 and have been for a couple weeks.

Just something you might like to read into further brother,
