Thread: new 6" fan

    Question new 6" fan

Its that time of year again where i spend all my money on grow gear. Getting a new 6" fan to replace my old 4" systemair thats cooling my lights, cant decide between the rhino twin speed 390/760m³/hr or the system air 720m³/hr. The only reason im considering the rhino twin speed over the rhino single speed is that its cheaper for the 6" twin speed with the same max power as the 6" high power single speed from the samed seller 131544456313.

If you use a controller then you can't use the twin speed rhino. I tried and broke it😕 if you don't use a controller then the twin speed will help in different seasons/weather.

I had the twin and broke it, now I have the rhino high powered one😉

im still completely impressed with my box fan,it has been on constantly for 7-months now,is still silent (26DB ),even when standing right next to it,superb bit of kit and was one of my better investments.

i have now added a proper speed controller as i have downsized in tent for now,and can have it running at almost stopping yet still neg pressure and running the rhino pro.

What's the noise like with those rhino fans mate ?
I was looking at the 6" thermo probe but heard they hum when dialled down.

Now seeing that you can't use a controller with the twin speed

Do you rate the single speed rhino ? 😉😊

Yeah I agree with mrman, under 50% and it's a bit hummy.

Budlightyear did advise me that even tho most controllers can be used below the 50% setting, you shouldn't really let it go that low. I can't remember word for word what he said but any fans running below 50% will be fecked long before any running at 50% and over. On my ecotechnics controller I can set the minimum fan speed, that stays at 50% and I don't really get any hum apart from when it starts after the heater has kicked in. I'm sure all fans him a little when building up speed tho.😉
