    Default Re-using 40/60 coco+pebble mix

Im thinking of re-using my 40/60 coco+pebble mix i just used on my last grow, but i dont really know what needs doing to the mix before it can be used, the guy at the local hydro-shop said to use Canna's Cannazym but the instructions are based on using throughout the grow, last grow i used Growers Ark A+B grow and bloom.

So far i have emptied my 15lt pots and broken the mix back up and took as many big roots out i could, then re-filled the pots and they are now waiting to be "watered", i need the pots ready in about 1-2 weeks!

Has anyone had experience of re-using coco and Canna's Cannazym?

    Thanks in advance

You need to remove as much root as possible and flush the medium to reset the ph, Itl also make sure it's free of any salts.. The cannazym is a definate as Itl break down any left over root mass and turn it into usable sugars for the next plants. For what a new bag costs is it worth re using?

Thanks, yes i flushed the plants through with an initial 15ltrs in one go followed by 2-3ltrs per day for the last week before cutting them,

Im thinking of re-using it, as getting rid of coco on its own in the garden of rented home is just doable, but cant when its mixed with the pebbles, the other option is putting them in the boot of car and dumping somewhere, but thats hassle and has its own risks! :/

    Fair enough, good point

Before you re use it run enough water through it until you get some run off. Test the Ec and Ph of the run off to see if it's within range or needs flushing further before use. A proper flush is 3x pot size

i run water through the coco while still in the pot, then I take the root mass and main stem away, then I use a garden sieve get rid of all the remaining root, present grow is fine using it.
