Default Ever seen or built your own Air cooling unit?

    Afternoon tokers and smokers😎

I thought on the hottest day of the year in the UK so far, this might be a good thread.

I've been looking at air con units and can't believe the prices and the sizes of the units.

    Is there any alternative?

I was thinking of drilling a 100mm hole in the door of my beer fridge and connecting it to a passive intake.😂😂😂

Are there any clever dicks around that know of a cheap build or something that works for them?

I know the answer will probably be
"stop being a tight arse Iron, get your wallet out and buy 1" 😂😂

    Thanks in advance😎

Even while the cfls were off today between 12 and 4 it didn't drop below 29 degrees.

Hi Im from the States , Michigan to be exact. Temps here have been hot last few days moderating now a bit. We built a small indoor grow under a Michigan Medical marijuana card. We are cooling the flower room and mother plant room with a 7500 btu Air conditioner/heater made by LG which is in a lung room . We cool the lung room to 65 degrees f. We use 8 inch duct FANS to vent in this cooler air to help cool the two room which are next to it. Both rooms return the air to the lung room and it is cooled. It is a sealed system . We are adding co2 to the air. 1500 ppm.

There are many ways you can cool a lung room, outside air (winter time) underground duct works , air conditioners , Ice box etc. I am having trouble with Phantom open ended 1000 watt lights and keeping them cooled. I can run at about 82 degrees with three of them on 8 plants as the room is only 8 feet by 14 feet. I am considering going to Lush LED LIGHTS. Two reasons, lowering electric use and cutting way back on the heat. Any Ideas besides increasing the size of the AC unit?

The cheapest portable ac I could find here is 225 usd and it is 5000btu - 32x33x62 cm in size.(can even fit in the tent) but it has no timer and just
3 modes dehumidifies, cools and works as a normal fan. The problem with these portables is the ducting behind them, 15cm diameter and 1.5mt long and it blows out insane heat.
You have to find a way to carry that heat away from the room which will require so many additional ducting in my space.
Still thinking if I should take the damage...

Looking to diy one when I move house in a few weeks
    1 kitchen rubbish bin
    1 clip on fan
    2washing basins
    1 plastic pipe 32mm
    1 32mm hole cutter
some silicon to seal the holes
2 drawers in my freezer that can hold 2 washing basins

    1 freeze water
2 to cut out a 6" hole at top of bin to fit fan
3 fit fan blowing into the bin
4 cut as many holes in the side of bin as you want
    I'm going to cut 4 32mm holes
5fit the 32mm cut to size pipes into the holes and seal with silicon
6drop your blocks of ice in
    7 turn fan on
Hope this sht works as those aircon systems are expensive
Check YouTube under homemade or diy aircons 😜😜

Hey Iron, if you want something budget then i've got a video for you!
I made one very similar using an old large Coolbag instead, with two 5L bottles of water which i swap over on a cycle.
A 5L bottle lasts about 8 hours give or take, which works out perfect if you out during the day.
It lowers the temperature in my tent by 3-4 degrees.
My tent is 60cmx60cmx120cm, so this may not work as well for you if yours is bigger but i thought i'd let you know.
