Weird white balls ...... not me, the plants
Hi there,
Ive been growing for a while now but have come across a problem Ive not seen before, I wondered if anyone here might be able to help?
The grow is 2 x Blue Widow, 1 x OG Kush and 1 x Mandarine cream under a 300w Platinum LED, they are in Bat Special soil and are being fed Canna Flores Terra with a bit of Dutch Pro Bud Explode and some additional N from time to time. Presently just ticked over 6 weeks in flower (12/12) so maybe have another 2 weeks to go.
Aaaanyway, I noticed yesterday that I had soem weird white growths on the top of one of the Blue Widow plants, it looks like they are starting to form on the second plant as well - BW are the two in the background:
They are almost like the hard bud on a Purple Haze or Orange Bud, they crumble if you rub them between fingers and dont have any evidence of seeds or anything else in there. The Kush and Creme plants arent affected and its only the 2 top buds on one plant that are really noticeable, they are 12 inches off the light so its not heat either. Initially thought they could be actual flowers but they are too big and too dense for that I reckon.
Any ideas? I dont really want to chop anything as I use same room for drying so all 4 plants would have to come down, and while it doesnt look like its doing any harm atm Im pretty sure its not right ..........

No, my flash on the phone seems to be powered by the actual sun lol
Try this:
OLike I say, texture is like an orange bud but they are kinda cream in colour, nearly white.

looks like light bleaching to me and the first pic in post #2 shows the most affected buds in the centre where the light is most intense.

Had a quick google and I reckon you are on the money - didnt know this was a problem with LED's though, certainly not at that distance?
Either way Ill tie them back down out of the way, thanks for the info
