Default Answered: Germinating with E27 bulb?

Quick question peeps, flowering my first grow currently but am contemplating germing my next ones under an E27 28w full spectrum light, can anyone say whether this would work or not?

It'll be an outdoor grow eventually due to space and dosh but i need a better way of germing as the little bum of a kitten kept attacking my seedlings first time round! Any help appreciated, cheers, LG

But like you said - would need to ramp it up drastically in veg

This bulb, would purely be for germing, thats it. Once they're big and ugly enough they'll go out in the shabby greenhouse! 😂

the E27 is the fitting size, and means a household screw in bulb fitting.

I have not used those LED units but have been interested in them, I personally use a 23w 6500k cfl bulb, usually Phillips tornado, for very early veg, and they work fine, until I recently bought a 250w cfl I was using four 23w cfl bulbs for all of veg and they were fine, but maybe a litle under powered.

As stated, the E27 is just a fitting size. You need the correct spectrum of lights and I'm sure it will work. 1 will not be enough though especially at that wattage for several seedlings.
