Default growing a plant in a pot outside

Once, a couple lifetimes ago, I lived in Northern California, grew a few plants in a greenhouse out back. No special seeds, no special equipment, just enjoyed life. Now I'm here in Queensland, AU and want to grow a plant in a pot out on my deck. This is the sub-tropics, gets a lot of sun, long days (in summer). Today's seeds are more specialized and my question is "what will do best for me?" My plan is to germinate in August and transplant outside thereafter. My tomato plants do best starting at about that time. But exactly what kind of seed will give me success? All I want is a good smoke, or a tasty brownie. A low bush plant would be best, and not with a strong odor. Any help with type of seed, size of pot, or anything else will be appreciated

Any of our sponsor companies could help you. You can actually choose the type of plant. I assume when you say low you mean short.. look up lowryder strains

Also there are autoflowering seeds now. The plant just flowers on its own no matter how much light or darkness it gets, so long days are great for them. 10L pot at minimum in my opinion.

Mate, you may have issues importing seeds into Australia. As far as I know they are pretty uptight with that sort of thing. Hope it works out.
