Drying and curing bud

Was just wondering if you have to dry and cure bud before making oil. It would seem to me that's just for the smoking side of things, therefore 2 to 3 weeks less waiting time?

Whilst we are on the subject, what about decarbing? If decarbing occurs during curing, is it still a necessary to cure AND then decarb when making RSO oil?

Never heard of de-carbing. Sounds like something a fat burd would do.

De-carbing = decarboxylation, the step that turns THCA to THC.

Ill pop in ,in a few guys , little busy at the mo .

But in mean time , go search for a Peep cslled Chew or Chewy ,he had a great piece on makin oil , and thats how i made mine .

I have looked up phoenix tears' site too. Am just still curious about a few aspects though, and of course prevention over any unexpected fireworks.

Do you mean decarboxelisation or something along those lines haha that’s when you put the ground up weed on parchment t paper and put in the oven on 100 degrees c for however long. Seen a few people do that when turning it into an eliquid

when you cure buds/age them, that's the natural way to 'decarb' weed, that's the reason it gets more potent with a good cure,
it's also how/why cooking with it works, the medium heat activates it, without heat its non-psychoactive

if you wanna rush this just heat it up in the oven at the lowest setting it has for 30/40 mins,


just to add, if you do heat it in the oven it tastes like crap, so definitely best to let curing do the job 'if you have the time'

Cannabis potency increases very slightly during the curing stage, not because is starts to decarb, it’s due to small amounts of CBG that remain when we harvest. CBG primarily converts to THC
