Question What's best to grow in without hydroponics

Due to finding out I need a water chiller for my nft system and can't afford one right now I have to look at other options.

What would you recommend to grow in soil etc ?

Coco is an inert medium that is there for the plants roots. You feed it everything required (like hydro) but there is no reservoir to deal with

Suppose with coco it would be a good start to dabble with nutrients.
Has anybody ever herd of mixing coco with clay balls but still watering by hand?

You can lessen the wattage for a bulb without problems, but you can't go over mate. So a 600W bulb can be used at 400w or lower but you couldn't use a 600w bulb with a 1000w fitting/ballast.
