Small Cupboard 1st Time Grow Questions

Hi all, been lurking for a few weeks, having a great read here, some great info, cheers all.

So I've been taking an age about what to do, I have a small cupboard about 0.7x0.7x1.7M I can grow in and I want to do things relatively cheaply but want a good enough yield to keep me going self sustained.

I've finally decided to just go for it instead of looking into the far end of a fart with everything. Looked at tents and space buckets but decided to just buy some Mylar and line the cupboard.

I've ordered some White Widow seeds and I'm hoping to grow 2 plants for my first grow. Just really after some advice on lighting, to keep thing cheap I was looking at CFL as the space was limited but I'm open to ideas, just don't want to spend too much if there's too much hear.

I grow in the old boiler cupboard at home in a similar size space, 58x76x185. Save a few quid & paint the walls Matt white instead of fussing with trying to hang mylar (trust me, it's not as easy as it sounds!) & the reflectiveness isn't actually that much different!

I use a 250w HPS in mine & vent into the loft space. It all seems to work quite well

I'm starting in a .8x.8x160 tent with a 600w led only two plants so will have to keep an eye on each other's grows see how we get on

Yeah this is an ex boiler cupboard also, would love to go down the hps root, what kind of cost are you looking at to light and vent to the attic which I guess is my inevitable path!

Cost? I really haven't kept count

However, I have a Lumatek 250w dimmable digital ballast, a 5" RVK extraction fan with a 5" Rhino Pro filter (My filter is in the loft & I blow through it), a 5" cool tube & enough 5" ducting to do the job...

Intake is a cheap 4" fan & some 4" ducting...

& here's a vid I made earlier this year of things in action. Not too sure why it ended up on it's side though

Haha looks good, something for me to aspire too, in between jobs at the moment so money is tight so I don't think I will be going down that root immediately.

Then you need to set a budget mate... look at it this way, I'm a pretty modest smoker, going through around an ounce a month. To rebuild my grow room from scratch - including all the 'nice touches' would cost me about 7/8 weeks weed money... but I could core it down to the minimum & it would cost me around 3/4 weeks weed money... or I could go a much cheaper route if I had to....

I put it in those terms as, between jobs, suggest that you are looking at saving money on the outlay of weed?

I turn over, easily, over 4 ounces every 12 weeks, but could ramp that up another 50% if need be...

So, what would your budget be? Whatever it is, you would be able to grow

I guess it depends on how much you need to grow to self sustain.

I hit enter too fast lol. Im a very light smoker .. weekends only..and an ounce will last me ages. I have a very modest setup ..just a 50x50x100 tent and a 300w LED and this works for me just fine and enables me to grow all I'll ever need.

For self sustaining I'm looking at 2 ounces plus every harvest. Don't smoke much but would like to not worry about how much I am smoking!

I am looking at LED also but it seems a minefield of Chinese stuff. Another day of research lol.
