Default New to growing does anyone reuse there soil?

I am new to growing have reused my soil twice. I always add new compost and add time released fertilizer to the old soil, is this alright. My soil is made of ( a third rabbit droppings , a third peat moss, and potting soil). In the past I average two oz. a five foot plant, but this year I started seeds in January to get bigger plants. Out of ten seeds I got seven females. Does anyone have any ideas?

hi mate I've always been told to throw used soil away as the build up of old fertilizer salts and pathogens can cause a toxic enviroment for the plant might be able to compost it then use It at a later point not 100% on that though .

My raised bed is nearly 3 years ok and going into its 5th cycle, I would never throw away a soil I have built.
And there is no worries of salts that's for sure

The difference between what Redz does (he creates and managers his own organic soils) and growers like you and I is vast. I pour my old used soil into my compost bin and refresh it that way. If you are simply growing in pots like I do then replace the soil after each grow.

You can reuse soil after adding some nutrients back into it back as a beginner I recommend just starting fresh.

In pots that size you'll be laughing, I would start with a healthy living mulch imo

Building your soil from scratch mate is the way to go for this, my main fertiliser that goes in at the beginning is kelp, neem, crab meals, then the gypsum, oyster shell and rock dust etc. The nettles etc are great for top dress. I would only worry about great white for the first inoculation then keep the micro herd going with teas and mulch.

After each year of growing I take all my used soil and put it on a tarp. I live the root ball in tell spring before I start adding rabbit compost . It takes me about a week to get all of my soil re energized . I do mostly gorilla growing as it is illegal hear.
