    Hi mate

I've no idea what universal soil is, or normal universal soil.
The same goes with universal fertilizer.

    What's with the egg shells?

There's no need to test or alter the pH in soil grows IF you're growing organically.

Some are undecided on this one.

Personally I leave them on and when they start yellowing it's the first sign for me to start giving a light dose of nutes. Also they generally fall off by themselves

could do with bit more info,auto/photo ? is light a Real wattage etc etc, plenty of other threads to take cues from for that.

if these are autos, youll need to put them in their final size pot immediately as once autos kick into gear up-sizing pots will sloow growth down the three/four weeks of auto-veg and youll end up with tiny plants at best.

far as pics go,nothing wrong there chap, they need a very light breeze on them, the merest flicker of movement.dont start chopping bits off, causes shock and loses a nutrient store at the same time, not a good thing to do to a baby.

that will strengthen the main stem, which then provides a larger route for the feed to travel upards.

depending on your humidity, you might also have to alternate "breeze" with some plastic bottles cut in half over top of them but as they are in pics youll prolly be ok not doing that.

as above posts, dont overwater them, wait until the whole lot is dry(pot feels light).can add root boost but no nutes for time being,if they get lighter/more yellow then add a quarter feed at most and just wet the soil, dont make it sodden
better to water lightly when they need it than flood them to drowning point.

would be good if you could be more specific about the soil, does it have nutes in it out of the bag etc.

lots of relevent information across many threads here in the forum,go have a wander and youll soon suss on how to continue.

    cheers n atb chap.
