    Default Completely 100% Baffled

The normal germination process is in a wet paper towel until the seed cracks and the taproot appears and then immediately into the soil. On the first occasion, the seed germinated, the little plant grew and all was well. The pot was left on the balcony and upon returning at night, the little plant had completely disappeared, literally no trace at all. And the soil looked as though it hadn't been touched. The second time, after germinating, the little plant was introduced more slowly to the sun, thinking maybe the first one just completed burned up and vanished in thin air? Although, it really hasn't been too sunny, a good mix of sun, clouds and rain. A few days in and the plant was still there. Then, all of the sudden, GONE. This one vanished as well.

It's very baffling, never have seen this ever... with any plants grown on the balcony.

    Any insight?

    Thanks in advance!

Never put a seedling under direct sun light that has just pop up. Also Birds. like Ggotch said. ^^^ Only if planted directly into the ground, but not into a pot.
